This one was made by my daughter. She decided that the best course of action was to put the frankenbot together herself with tape instead of waiting for dad and boringly follow the instructions :D

Thank you very much!
Thanks a lot for that additional info! I collected most of the grinding dust in my spark bucket but burning does sound like an interesting alternative.

Thanks a lot! Anodizing with electricity is definitely something I'm looking to try. I've watched a few videos on the process and have a few ideas of my own for some effects.

Thank you that is very kind of you!
Thanks! It'll be ok for marking in wood but for an actual blade to use for regular cutting I would reinforce the edge with carbide (Which is something I'm currently looking at).

Thanks a lot! I'm glad you liked it! Unfortunately you are right about the type of comments. I was expecting them over at youtube which isn't unusual but I find it sad that it now happens here on Instructables as well.
Hi, yes that's the rotary tool with the burr bit. The pic is quite bad, I'll take another when I'm back in the shop. Thanks for reading!
View Instructable »I can assure you that this was no antique. It was produced in the late 80s in the GDR. Due to the experience I've gained making this project this old axe (that had arguably not much value) is now something that is priceless for me. That you do not see value in it is sad but doesn't bother me.

Awesome project(s)!I like both designs but visually I find the v1 more appealing due to the handle scales, maybe using micarta or G10 would benefit the handling. That way you could also create a hollowed out section in the handle for accessories such as a spare nut/bolt and or sharpening stone. Another design addition could be to extend the blade area to the rear creating a small flat area that could be used as a hammer.Anyways all the best of luck for the metal contest (you got my vote)

Hi, thanks a lot for reading! To be honest I wasn't quite sure if I should go as sharp as I did. In the end I thought that I would regret it later if I left the blade dull. Since I do not intend to use it for proper chopping anyways I figured I could give it a go.As for the milk carton, that sounds like it could work!Make sure you share a pic of your restored cleaver once you're done with it!CheersAlex

Hi,thanks a lot reading all the way through :DThe hangers for the angle grinders are pretty much pre-fabricated hooks mounted on a base and cleat. As for the magnet strips: I've been using this setup (not mounted on a french cleat wall though) for over two years without problems. I make sure that I clean the files with a file card after every use and before putting them back on the magnet strip. There a of course a few metal shavings but nothing to worry about. Have a great weekend!

Hi,I liked the write up and your video. The overall design gave me some ideas for a jig for my angle grinder.I would recommend some additional safety features to be built in for user protection. Also saying that this is a powerful table saw might be a little bit of an overstatement. I think this could be useful for making small props and projects using soft woods.Keep it up and good luck in the competition!
