I just made tube for the arm with the same material as my jacket (I had some left over) and used a black glove and stuffed that too. You can put a piece of foam inside to give it some more shape if you want. No pattern really.

I bought the mouth pieces at our local Value Village in their Halloween section just after Halloween. There is really no brand, just a generic product. They were a bottom jaw for a "wolf" maybe with some brown fur attached to the chin that hung down over your neck. I removed the fur from both and used one set as a top and one as a bottom. I believe I pushed the incisors on the bottom piece down so the top ones would go over the bottom jaw piece.

Thank you. Second item I made. Takes some practice to get the shape just so, but I enjoyed trying it out.

Amazing work.

No. Just the paws. Was trying to avoid extra weight.
No, I did not stuff the rest of his body. His head is quite heavy, and I did not want to give him too much more weight. I did stuff his paws, that was sufficient.
They are no lightweight. His head is heavy and my arm and hand get a workout. So, several times a year is enough for me.
View Instructable »The measurements are not precise as you need to make it fit around your body size. So, best to measure across your shoulders - I started his tail just over my opposite shoulder and down a bit. If you are broader, you will need to make this longer.

Awesome. Perhaps you could do an instructable using that software for others. I have never used it, so am unable to help out anyone who has a question with the particular software.
View Instructable »I am sorry, I do not use that software. However, someone else responded they were able to use my instructable to do the same thing in that software. See their response and perhaps touch base with them on how to do it.

It is kind of addictive - even though I don't actually play the game, I go and help out with the non-players group keeping their camping area tidy, helping them get into costume to be a monster etc, besides taking the photos at the events as well. They have franchises all over, so you could actually check them out to see if there is one close to you. We have people who drive 5 hours to attend an event here, so there are some pretty dedicated players. Glad you enjoyed the instructable. Thanks for taking the time to view it.

Hard cover works best. I found the ones with fabric even better as they add to the texturized look. The harder cover also gives some support for the dragon eye. You could give it a try, but my gut tells me the softer cover will be more floppy as opposed to the firmness of the hard cover.

Thank you for your comment. Your niece and nephew will be very lucky to get such a gift from you. Cheers
Thank you for taking the time to visit my instructable. Cheers.
That would make a great instructable if you haven't done one already - if it would be your first - there is a contest open for that now. Go for it.
View Instructable »Entertaining? Not sure about that lol but def the full blown craftmom for sure. I can't do puzzles at all but creating them is a different story - most of the puzzles were really easy and google is your best friend. Thanks for the comment.

Thank you. Yes, he has some favorite pieces that he keeps in his room.
Thank you for your review and comments. As I noted, I truly enjoyed making the project as much as he enjoyed solving the puzzles. The memory it created is priceless and the cost involved was minimal - as I am into a lot of crafty stuff, I already had most of the supplies. I am glad you enjoyed the story - there was a lot of detail in each letter that I did not have room to put here - he did actually keep the handwritten (with a fountain pen and ink no less) letters. Cheers.

Hey, that is really great. Originally, I was going to give it to him as an anonymous gift when we went on our vacation, but I really, really wanted to see him open and solve the puzzles, so opted not to do this. I asked my neighbors to participate later on, but my neighbor was ex-military and had offered to have some of his friends from all over the world participate by remailing packages from different places. This would have taken too long too, so I didn't go that route as well. You can do so many variations on this mystery gift, so go for it if you want to incorporate more mysteriousness to your project. Unfortunately, I did not know about instructables when I made that project, so recreating it from scratch is not something I have the time or all of the pieces to do. I believe I…

Hmmm....wondering if you could just make prints of digital photos and print them on overhead sheets, they come pretty thin and might work on a color printer. That way, you could use your digital camera. Just a thought. I might try this out and use your template for the disc.

Unfortunately, they will. Before you know it, you will be dealing with tweenies and then young adults. Enjoy this time with them. Make other crafts suitable for younger ages, I did with both of my children. Exploring colors, textures and experiments gave me just as much pleasure as it did for them. Thank you for taking the time to check out my instructable.

Thank you for your comment. It sort of mushroomed because I could not decide which puzzles to leave out, what was one more if it kept the treasure hunt going. It was even fun watching him try to solve them all. Anyone can make their own but stop at an earlier point rather making it quite as elaborate as this one. I was glad to share it here for others to be inspired. Cheers.

Thank you very much. I wanted to share my experience so that others might be able to have bit of a head start on making their own. Almost all of the internet sites were people selling them and not really showing details about making one, so I had to learn and figure out some of the stuff on my own with bits and pieces from others. Thanks for your comments.
