I would have started on the rust with Electrolysis and then a wire wheel on either the drill or an angle grinder.

I designed a very similar clock back in the 80's using discrete components and no software. But, alas, I never built it.

concrete is a good choice of material because birds don't want a slippery surface but the shape of this bath is not ideal. Birds want very shallow water to wade in rather than a deep "bath".

Nothing has been done on this in 7 years. It should be deleted.

I like it. There are other ibles that have frosted glass or lights behind the glass but this is nice. I see it was not an option for you but I prefer a headboard mounted on the wall.
