Great! I get them at home centers, in the concrete section. Look for 8" diameter by 4' tubes. They run about $7.00. Please include "worm composting lodge" when you order from Our Vital Earth. Bille

By cutting slits I mean, stand the ear up with the cut end on the cutting board. Then cut small slits through the husk into the cob about 6 times (about 1/2 inch long).
View Instructable »Great! I have done it the same way, but learned to cut the end off before nuking. In addition, if you cut small slits around the sliced end, it makes it easier to shed the husk. Two ears at 3 minutes is a charmer and easy-peasy!!

The vegetable fermenting kit is available at PerfectPickler.com. I created it back in 1991, and is a sturdy, simple approach to keeping the ferment protected during the four day process.
Nice!
