Nice, I may have to borrow that idea some day. The only thing I might have done differently was use longer than 1-5/8" screws to attach the cleats to the sides of the crates for a stronger joint there as that would be the weak point for weight failure (I think :) and probably longer screws to secure the drawer slides as well.

Thanks for posting this! I didn't realize you there was enough overhang to hang them on rails in that manner. I'll be building a couple short ones to fit under my pinball machines to hold all the parts and pieces that go along with those.

I've moved away from galvanized, while it is cheap and readily available and relatively easy to work with it does leave powder behind, and more as it weathers. I much prefer stainless steel as it's clean and shiney. but may not be the look you are going for. Brass is great as well. The ultimate is titanium, love the look, great to work with, lightweight but plenty spendy.
Nice set, I really like the taller size. I made some similar, though with a square profile a few years back for my grandkids to play with. http://pappyspark.blogspot.com/p/pappy-logs.htmlOnly suggestion would be to use a dowel instead of a screw for the roof slat holder, I can see someone getting a nice scrape on that sharp screw edge.
