Cool idea! Have you ever tried a combination of emory powder and glue? My late great grandmother worked in a factory which supplied their workers with hand-made sharpening sticks for their tools. I was given one of her sharpening sticks, and it was simply a small wooden plank, roughly 3" x 3/4" x 1/8", covered in a sort of hardened emory powder, which I assume was held in place by it being mixed with some sort of glue. I'm sure that SOMEWHERE there must be a way to make/buy emory powder in various grits. I suppose any sort of sand or aggregate may work to create your very own 100% customized hand-made sanding tools.
Looks like an awesome summer pool toy!!!! Great idea! Have you found out if any municipal swimming pools would allow them?
