Made a couple if these berry pickers for family. Didn't file the PVC as much as I should have, on my first try. Next time will do more extensive filing. https://www.instructables.com/id/BERRY-PICKER/ Thanks for the instructable.
Made a couple for relatives. Followed "Make PVC look like wood" instructable to make them a little more appreciated. Used a coke bottle to flare the bottom after heating. Added a wire for leverage (attached a rope, not shown) for harder to reach angles just in time for cherry season.

Can be a decent impromptu eyelet when a string or lanyard won't work. For this extended shoehorn, zip tie was perfect for something I could hang onto hook by the door one handed, retrieve one handed.

Wow, what a great instructable! Thank you!Setting out to paint large quantities of PVC to look like wood using another recent instructable; the cost of the oil paint tubes made the scale prohibitive. Will share a pic of the work after I've implemented your method and put the paint to use. I'm going to do some research on the best pigment additives for making burnt sienna or other xylochrome like bamboo or oak..

Well, if not vines, there's always ivy! In the Pacific NW we have several species of ivy that grow quite well year round (English Ivy for one)-- in fact for some yards it's a constant battle to pull it up. I can imagine a nice tunnel with Ivy in some yards. Congrats on another great instructable.

Enjoyed crafting according to original instructions, using yarn hotglued onto the bottle, and foil wrapper for one way valve, worked great. I experimented a bit for a method for an upcoming summer group of kids to make as a craft, with less teacher supervision. With this variation on Stefan's idea, I used a single straw through the plastic bottle cap (hotglue to seal), melted one end of straw with a lighter, curving it a bit, so that it made kind of a "reed valve" (I used a Perrier bottle: in future will use something more bell shaped, with less of a slope). In place of glued string I used some old cloth and put a rubber band over the fabric. Stefan's works better but this is intended for a group of 4th graders and limited adult supervision time available for hot glue guns).
