I have been wanting to make this for months, but have neither had enough paracord, nor anything of a suitable size and weight to put in the monkey's fist. By happy coincidence my local hardware store had some cheap paracord, and my local department store had lead sinkers on clearance. So, time to give it a go. I used the lengths listed in the instructable, but found that I used one piece about 2 metres (~6') long, and the second about 1m (~3') long, so you can save a bit of paracord by not cutting both pieces the same length. Still, it's better to have more than needed, so I'm not complaining about that. For what it's worth, a size 5 ball sinker is the perfect size for this project.
