  • Every Liter Counts! Arduino Water Doser "Shield"

I'm getting a lot of anomalous results when I use a solenoid, everything from incorrect volumes to board resets...my solenoid is 12v, and isn't being driven from the circuit, so I think the interference is just EMI. Yours is AC, so could that explain the difference? Magnets are magents though... Everything works fine if it's just free flow, but as soon as I try to control the flow, it goes a bit off. Has anyone else seen this? I'm going to now experiment to see how far apart the sensor and the solenoid need t.

  • How to Use I2C Serial LCD 20X4 (Yellow Backlight)

This is a nice clean instructable, and I appreciate that i was able to get a functioning (i.e. duplicate) project very quickly. One question I have, however, is that there appears to be a great many <LiquidCrystal_I2C.h> libraries out there...maybe it's only one, but my struggle is finding thorough documentation for the library. Do you have any advice? In other words, how do I take this to the next level and make this basic sketch work for my purpose?

    ESP8266 GMail Sender

I think you need something like this:int Astate = 0;int lastAState = 0;Astate = digitalRead (A);if (Astate != lastAState){if (AState == HIGH){send mail}else {}lastAState = AState; This is a single-shot high type code...once the code goes high, it activates the IF. You can put a negative statement in the ELSE if you want to see when it goes Low (I'm struggling myself with the email send part...not sure if you can have two mail send commands).

Great i'ble, it worked out of the box for me, but I'm trying to include the "send mail" functionality into another sketch that is already up and running. I tried to copy out only the GSender portion of the code, since the rest of the code handles the WiFi connection, and my other sketch already takes care of that. My plan was to tuck in that section of your Gmail code into an "IF" statement of my other one, so if the condition is met, an email is sent. Instead, however, I get a Stack error (Exception 29). I see others have gotten this too, and research on the internet shows it's waaay over my head. Is there a better way to modify your code so that it only sends when desired?

Hi TobbeG - I'm having the same issue, but am not as advanced as you...can you provide some more specifics about how you avoided this error?

  • Brined Pork Ribs (or Who Ate All the Ribs!?)

I'm trying to recreate an authentic charcroute garnie for Christmas Eve this year, and ribs were an addition I had at one point in Strasbourg, France, that I think took it over the top. In keeping with the German/Alsace tradition of Kassler Rippchen, also used in this, I was going to treat my ribs with some TCM #1. Yours looked fantastic, but also cut very cleanly, which may suggest that they weren't "fall off the bone" tender...how did they turn out, texture wise?

    Intervalometer

ooh...you got me! I do appreciate that you provided more reasonable alternatives, but I was seriously hoping for a EUREKA! moment involving more-common household items....Regardless, still a good tutorial!

I haven't even gotten to page 2, and am blown away by the quality of your control panel...even if I don't learn anything new about intervalometers (doubtful, I'm new!), I hope to pick up some design tips about UI! Beautiful!

  • Simple Camera Dolly for Time-lapse Photography

This is a very clever design, I like your use of the channel from a saw guide! One improvement came immediately to mind, if you are rebuilding- incorporate a lever switch near the motor (proximity to battery is a benefit), which interrupts current to the motor when the dolly hits it. This way you can have a bit more freedom while it's running.

  • Plier organizer for drawer / Organizador de pinzas

Going to build this this weekend! Most of my tool drawers are neat and organized, but pliers have proven too heavy to stay put when closing the drawer, this is perfect!

    LEGO SMD Resistor Storage

This is a really cool solution! I currently have mine in little drawers, but if I ever get away from thru-hole, I'll consider implementing this to save a TON of space!

Very clever! Any tips on how to strip the 0.25" of insulation from each end quickly and evenly?
