Good thought but unless the light strip is recessed, it will be clearly seen and reflected in the mirror at the expense of the ‘live edge’ wood... less attractive IMO.
Seems bubbles formed exclusively and harmlessly on the underside of the table-top... fortunate b/c it's a really nice, useful design. Thanks for sharing.

Super craftsmanship, love the waterfall edge!
Good idea but buying a $55 device to help fabricate a $20 item makes less sense. Better to grab a hammer and hole punch and pop the rivet the "backwoodsman" way.
Big on re-purposive so another idea is use a mechanically busted hot water heater and while interior tank is usually glass, exterior metal would need protective coating. For that thinking painting with wire brush recycled plastic milk cartons. 40 +/- gal. tank and MANY milk cartons (#2 HDPE heated to 350 F) would be the base to then apply your finishing technique.BTW did note and appreciate Karen's rain stick idea.
Well done, may try the technique on a rain barrel (for irrigation)... not to be confused with a rain stick :) Faux-wood barrel with some PVC "branches" holding ivy should make it functional and aesthetically acceptable.
