I see in the assembly the magnetic balls attach to the ends of the arms(with set screws) and I see what looks like the print3times.stl but what is the part below the print3times.stl part? Aslo how are these attached to the plateau.stl? Thank.
That was my thought too. I will be trying this using an rPi3A+($25) and a PCA9685 PWM driver board(16 servo outputs). But I think I'll use laser cut parts and just the 3D printed legs/ball joints. It will not look as elegant as @Johan's but proof-of-concept first. Will try the USB cam first and then I will try the ball platform in acrylic with the camera looking up so everything could potentially fit inside the base. If that works, I'll try using TensorFlow to train it to self balance by using a PS3 controller to control the 3 servos and use that data as features into the NN.

the phone only uses 2 wires so there's at least 2 more wires in the phone line to use. Why not make a tiny piezo electric buzzer run off the other 2 lines? In the old days, everyones phone would ring so people were assigned ring codes to indicate their home/phone was being called. Like Morse code with long and short rings.
You used the cut-out area of the orange crate for the axle mounts. Great project and great layout design. Love it!
