Tell us about yourself!
I really like the idea and final look. You can save yourself a ton of soldering, though, by hot gluing some thin strips of foamboard on the back (maybe 3/4 of an inch in from the edge all around) and running the lights sideways in a loop around the edge. The led strips will bend a bit, and since you can cut them at any point, you won't have to solder at all to get the lights to go around exactly the way you want. If you do have to doa sharp bend, you can always cut and solder just once. I did this on a minecraft night light I made (https://www.instructables.com/2x2-Glowing-Minecraft-Ore-Night-Light/) and I made the foam board wide enough to hold two led strips all the way around, did a double loop, and never had to solder. Fleece often had a good amount of stretch, so if you go with a less stretchy fabric, and don't plan to stuff it too firm, you could skip the muslin.
I don't have all the receipts, but here's some estimates:Fiber fill: $25 for a 10 lb box at Walmart; prob $40 worth if you stuff it until firmFleece Fabric: typically $5-10$/yard; so maybe $30 or soMuslin Fabric: $4/yard, so $15Thread, packing tape and a black felt: $10Funnoodle: prob $15 or soSo my estimate is a little over $100. You can change fabrics, make it smaller, or stuff it less or with something else to make it cheaper. Joann sends out lots of coupons and holds sales you can take advantage of.
That looks awesome, and shows how you can adjust the fabric and stuffing level to suit your taste. The one I made is probably a bit overstuffed, to be honest, and i think one like yours that you can more easily cuddle will probably get a lot more love. Thanks for sharing your pics.
