I stumbled across this old Instructable and made it today. It took probably under a minute to solve, but I am already familiar with string puzzles. If you aren't, then this would be much trickier to solve. Almost all string puzzles involve a loop going through a hole. That key strategy made it easy. I noticed a lot of comments looking for the answer, so I decided to post it. Enjoy!Photo1: Starting point. If you started on the right, just mirror the directions.Photo2: Slide the ring up through the loop.Photo3: Pull the loop in the string through the hole in the board.Photo4: Follow the string through the two new loops formed.Photo5: Come out the other side of the two new loops.Photo6: Pull the loops in the string back through the hole in the board so that you have one loop again.Photo7: ...

I like the concept, but I pity the person coming down the stairs who doesn't notice that a drawer has been left partially open...

Made this a few weeks ago, but finally had time to finalize it this weekend. I would definitely recommend taking the tire and inner tube off. You can't get nearly the same speed with it on.

Any suggestions on a good way to add noise to this without creating too much drag? I was thinking of zip tying a couple whistles around the outer edge, one facing each direction, but on opposite sides of the wheel to keep balance.

• But don't you start with 4 triangles and have to make 8 triangles? There is no mention of needing to make 8 triangles.

Glad to help. Looks great!

• I think the confusion is that you don't say how many triangles you are trying to make in the instructions. Might want to add that. I just says you start with 4 triangles and have 3 moves.
