I was under the impression that patents are expensive and it would take too much work to make any money with this design. Thanks for the suggestion though, will look into it a bit more

View Instructable »Haha, I had no idea that this could be a common problem. Just did the first thing that came to my mind although I could imagine actually correcting the logarithmic fading with an exponential function could work too. Breaking it down into two speeds probably only works with very simple constructions like mine though. Thanks!

Is there any particular reason why you're not using the internal pull-up resistors of the Arduino and just use the switch as the connection to ground?
