Loved it; I think I might route the slots though rather then split and glue.
Inspired my this instructable using a mix of bought & bartered material.
I am going to make one similar to this. skipping the instrucable cause this one pretty much covered it. I anticipate some excess material that I am considering using for a jig toward my small drill press. I may look at instructable on that but . . . we'll see.

I hope it works out the drying thing and that I get some usable pieces, That color was a first noted quality before I notice how much looked wasted as far as getting any sizable pieces out of it. But I am still hopeful. Great job on the instructable. This was easier than I thought it would be.
In addition I ran out of comment room. May get something out of this. It looked much better before I split it.
A friend at work told me he had a partial tree left was too big for him to finish cutting down. I said perfect I seen this instructable and wanted to give it a go. I cut it down and split it up. but it looks pretty nasty. I will let it dry and see may Get some thing out of it. get some

I thought I posted a question but I didn't see it in the posts so I will try again. It was basically, Is there a significant or scientific benefit to splitting vs cutting i.e. with a chainsaw or mill for that matter? In the quality i.e. stress of wood drying curling spliting.
