Oh I wasn't offended at all by what you said! You didn't know why we chose to live there and made a best guess in our defense. I was more so pointing out to molly that she was basing her harsh judgement on someone else's best guess that happened to not be our reason at all. Thanks for checking it out. I'm glad you liked it. :)

Cool! When I got started I couldn't find a single person who was doing it online. I was reading ultimate winter camping books figuring that of camping was possible living was theoretically possible. Lol. Would have been awesome to have found someone that was living the life before I got started.
Hey Molly, We aren't posting to show how desperate we are or whatever. In fact we are rather proud of having done this instead of accepting conditions that were making us sick. My sister reminded me that she actually had two jobs for most of the winter, and I had/have a good enough job to pay for way better on my own without her help. But the apartment we had was new construction and already was making us sick with tenants that wouldn't obey the rules. I didn't want to deal with property managers that wouldn't enforce the rules and building mates who flaunt their disobedience. My life in the van is a choice and preference not a plea for pity. As for not serving in the military, that was a personal choice. I really doubt that would have gotten me away from smoking people though tbh (could …

Good ideas, just DON'T forget that weather can change. If you left on a gloomy day and it gets sunny, don't forget the dog back in the van. Nice set up. :)

Really cool. Something that my van came equipped for, was a cable running from the alternator to the back where you could(we didn't) hook up a battery and let it trickle charger whenever you were driving. I wonder if you could do solar and that so that the batteries would get a boost whenever you drove places. I didn't use any electrical skills for my van because our power consumption needs were REALLY low, and I wasn't confident in this area, but your set up looks cool. Thanks for giving an idea for what the amount of power you have will do. When I was trying to learn about it everyone kept talking technical term and gave no real world comparison for what it will do in "normal people talk"

It was made with 40 inch lengths of reed, and only thing I noticed was that I should have made the last 5 rods a bit longer so they would have gone the full distance, as it stands they barely reach their places. Thanks for the cool explanation on how to do it!
