Be careful and don't pull the trigger without it being up against your project or it will whip on you. Take a baseball and cut the threads, that way you can see the pattern giving you a better idea of how to cut your sandpaper, I would also wrap some tape around the all thread so it doesn't scratch your project. Besides that I like what you did trying to solve a problem that a lot of people deal with on the lathe.

What are you doing to oil the compressor? The compressor needs oil to operate for extended periods of time and without an oil reservoir the life of the compressor will be cut short. As a refrigerator compressor it spent it's time under vacuum with oil in the freon which contributed to the lubrication.

Great job. With that size of tubing you can plug one end of the tubing, so there's no air inside, after it's submerged in a soapy water solution and stand them vertical in a piece of foam and freeze them and then bend them. The soap helps eliminate some of the friction and the mixture keeps it from collapsing. Keep up the great work and the inspiration.

Nice creation. What kind of rod are you using? 6011 or 6013 is good for ac welding, so if you're using something else buy some rod made for ac welding. Also practice, practice, practice and you'll get better, and it saves on grinding. Learn all you can and pass it on.
I've been using a commercial one for years that cost me 4 or 5 dollars back in the 70's, it's called a, Pump and Seal, and it works great. The pump sits directly over the hole and it has a 2 way seal that allows you to remove the air and then it seals itself. It can be used on bags or mason jar lids. I've seen similar ones at stores that sell for 2 to 3 dollars and are a lot simpler to operate. Keep on creating, we need thinkers and doers instead of takers and fakers.
Concrete has great compressive strength but it doesn't have tensile strength, that's where steel rebar comes in because of its tensile strength. Because of their small size flower pots don't need rebar or steel mesh, but if you make something larger where you are concerned about it breaking, I would suggest that you use Fibermesh. I've seen small bags of it at the home stores, but I would suggest that if you have a concrete plant near by go ask them if you could buy 1 bag, 1 bag is enough for 1 yard of concrete and would last you a long time. The original Fibermesh is made of microsynthetic fibers, about an inch long, they also make fibers from steel for commercial flooring and other industrial uses.
Even with the nails cut off you risk damaging your work surface.
Very impressive, now draft the plans in English and metric and sell them. A lot of us can weld and are good at woodworking but when you introduce electronics in the mix I get lost. Selling the plans would help recover some of the cost of your machine and give those of us the opportunity to build our own. I know it's probably cheaper to buy a small cnc, but I bet there's a lot of people who would prefer to build their own. Work out the bugs and see if it is advantages to sell the plans. Keep up the great work.
Since Sill Sill hadn't been invented they must have thought carpet was the best way to prevent air leaks, how wrong they were. Are you going to put a new roof on and porches over the doors? Since the floorboards are particle board are you concerned about the placement of your machinery sitting on it and if so will you replace it with plywood? I would like to know the final cost of materials and how many hours of labor, if you kept track. Since you have been quite thorough on everything else I bet you have recorded all of your expenses, which will be a great help for those looking to conquer such a project. Keep up the good work.
