I'm a grad student in astrophysics, specializing in building extremely high frequency radio telescopes and receivers. As scientists, we rarely have enough money to do things the easy or conventional way, so hacks (and a fair share of kludges) are common. Occasionally, I'll invent something I think is of use to other people, and I'll share it here. In my ever dwindling spare time, I also try my hand at woodworking, particularly furniture.
