So, how did you know it was the column lock, and not the lock cylinder? Because that is EXACTLY how my s40 was behaving... I could shift in and out of park, and the steering wheel turned fine, but couldn't turn the key to position III at all. Aw heck, now I have to look at the other end of the column lock cable, since I was just in there... This is the absolute most perfect instructable for me to have found today. Thank you!
