Yes indeed, a L293d IC can be used in this circuit. I have used 2 brushless motors which is why connections would be a little difficult. It is not required however as it can turn on its axis and reverse turning is not needed.

The Bluetooth signals are sensed only till where you drag your phone, am I right? But the signals might extend more than that...
