    Retro LED Strip Audio Visualizer

I think it would be easier (=faster) to go the "analog" approach: build band pass filters using L and C elements, plus maybe op-amp/s and probe each band signal levels on analog inputs of Arduino, then, drive subsequent LED strips based on these levels (sort of a graphical equalizer circuit).Don't you think? :)Anyway, you've got nice end result and thanks for the Fourier explanation.

Indeed, you inspired me:) The more I'm thinking on how to make it modular: maybe the rails can be rack'n'pinion style, to eliminate the need of timing belts and simplify the middle rail?I'm curious of your thoughts...

Ooor, use alloy x-profile for the slide with an add-on 3D printed rack in the middle? Modular length - granted :)

Man, I learned about what the camera slide can be 7seful for from your project. A couple of thoughts that came to my mind I'd like to throw at you: what if the camera track was circular, like, built around say cheap 3D printed lego tracks? Would that bring any value to videoing or maybe ( assuming the video subject to reside around the circle center) eliminate the need of calculating target position on the fly? Now, maybe the camera cart could be equipped with a some kind of a beacon tracking sensor (ir? or sonic?) and a target to follow might have a beacon on it or on its base? Dunno if these ideas lead to any useful conclusions, but, maybe?:) The lego train tracks plus some sort of a middle rail with joints could be an idea for modular length of the track, too. Good luck and enjoy ma...

    LED Matrix Cylinder

For my ws2812 3-wire strip projects I found the 1.27mm flat ribbon cable to work best to interconnect the strip segments. Like the one 7sed for PC disk drives and IDC connectors. The raster makes it easy to couple neighbor wires to make a 2-wire power and signal lines (6 wires wide ribbon per strip). That cable allows for gr8 flexibility and easy wires hiding. Cheers. Marek.
