Hey, nice project! I was wondering if using something sturdier, like t shirt yarn, might not be best in terms of durability. It might even be possible to weave old plastic bags together and paint them to make a recycled tire cover! Cheers

Cool project! I think that if you use two pieces of ribbon and that you tie them "around the cover" (like a binder ring) you would not need to untie every time you want to write! It would reduce the risk of falling apart as well.
I added a round to the flat top, and a couple more to the long part. If you do the same, make sure to match the dec! I strongly suggest « tying » the top when sewing, it does help keeping it in a marshmallow shape
