That's an interesting idea, I have some extra keyboards.I would like to suggest that you wrap your cylinder in a mesh type cloth, perhaps cheesecloth or that stuff that People make bath scruffies with. The hot glow would embed in the mesh and not fall off.

Another source of diffuser material is from broken LCD or LED monitors or TVs, it doesn't matter if the screen is cracked. There is diffuser material as well as Fresnel and clear plastic sheets. When disassembling the older monitors and TVs, be careful of the thin glass fluorescent tubes as they have mercury in them.

I had never heard of using ammonia to bend wood, it sounds a lot easier than using and containing steam. I had heard of the roman laundries collecting urine to bleach robes white, I guess from the ammonia. Here is an article on softening wood using Ammonia, Lye and Urea. Again two chemicals in urine;Softening and Bending of Black Poplar (Populus nigra L.) Wood with ChemicalsAuthor: Younis H. Suleman Journal: Tikrit Journal for Agricultural Sciences ISSN: 18131646 Year: 2015 Volume: 15 Issue: 4 Pages: 15-20Publisher: Tikrit UniversityThere is also an 8 minute Youtube video that says ;"Bending wood with ammonia is not really DIY, but I show the process, which is extremely effective. There is also a commercial product that is pre-treated flexible wood, which hardens after being clamped…

Where are the list of materials needed? I see The TJBot, and the source is listed at the top of the instructable. Skimming half way down the article the I find TJBot is powered by a Pi, then I find I need one?! relay (optional), but I never find out what type. I can see there are USB dongles of some sort, I also find out a camera is optional. There was mention of voice commands so perhaps it needs a mic. Please add a bill of materials to the top of any instructable you create so I can see i have, what I need to purchase and if i have the needed skill set to continue.Regards.

I purchased a GlowForge and have nothing but problems cutting thin test images on paper before I try something on wood or acrylic. I also have problems with blow away items, but again I purchased a Glowforge which has a front door that has to be closed so there is no way to use this. Too bad, as I can remove my crumb tray and fool the paper height sensor with the vacuum table, but I could not connect vacuum hose with the door closed.Good job. I should have spent $500 (plus stamps) on a 65 watt Chinese laser instead of 6000 on a laser made in China.

I did this. I left the masking on, I lasered a third of my text, spray painted it, lasered the 2nd third, spray painted that text and then lasered and spray painting the last text. I used N52 magnets to mark where the (square) peice was supposed go so i didn't have a problem with indexing. i did have one place where there was too much paint and it leaked under the mask but I polished that away.

1x Catron Tube (O.D 54mm, I.D: 44mm, Height: 1m), Home Depot is all out.I don't normally have paper or cardboard tubes this size. I know I can use a section of plastic water or electrical pipe from the scrap box or hardware store, but what other free sources of tube are there? Some LED strips come with RF or wireless controllers, with or without Alexa or Bluetooth access. These can be used to replace the ESP32 controller and give you different kinds of light effects and patterns. That is a great looking lamp and would create a nice nighttime ambiance on my computer room. Thanks.

It would be best to check the board's creator for the newest version and not someone who is trying to capitalize on the their work. The original website is here; https://www.axiris.eu/en/index.php/project-corner/... You can also google "Axiris IV-3 Shield" for reviews and more information. The IV-3 and IV-6 are dirt cheap on eBay. Right now there is a set of six IV-6s for $5.50 plus $8 shipping from the Ukraine. The top search for "IV-3 VFD" lists 6 for $4.90.Search ebay for "IV-6 VFD", or "IV-3 VFD". You can also search for IV-3 or IV-6 "Nixie", but strictly speaking, the Nixie is a different technology.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vacuum_fluorescent_d...https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nixie_tubeGood luck.

The Glowforge Laser cutter has the habit of converting dashed lines into solid lines when it uploads a PDF file. It doesn't always do it, but it does give a warning when it does. The other major defect in the machine is that you have to be on the internet when you use the machine as the laser cutter's user interface is cloud based. While it is nice that you can use the cutter from your phone, it means you can not use it from Adobe Illustrator or any other program.

No. The implementation or artificial intelligence is left as an exercise to the reader.
That was true at one time, and still true for some manufacturers. Go to Amazon and you'll find cutters for less than $500 some of them include shipping. You can also find Laser cutters cheap feom from China that include shipping whereas just a year or two ago you could buy one from China but you had to arrange shipping and to pick it up at the port. There are you been laser cutters that cost less than $100 but they I'm more design for laser engraving than cutting although they may be able to cut paper and thin cardboard. These laser cutters are called diode lasersT/C
Yes. You create whatever info and when you bring it into the cutter software, you mark those to Engrave or Score, instead of cut.You can also engrave an image, for instance, eyes or claws.
Brightled is so right, as they said, the Correct one. What works for a CO2 laser is not correct for a diode laser. Some cutter machine designs, like the Glowforge Basic and Glowforge Plus are designed so that you don't need glasses if you operate the cutter correctly, while the Glowforge Pro model allows you to feed long material thru the front and back of the cutter thru slits in the case where (invisible!!!) light can possible escape. For that reason GF recommends safety glasses for the Pro users and has even created a free Laser Safety Officer (LSO) course to help users. Other cutters may be similar, but it is up to the user to learn about laser safety as well as what materials are dangerous to machine or personal.G/L
