Sure thing! It was definitely something I should have planned a bit better as the crossover board was just a tiny bit too big to fit on the bottom; with the sides that pulled in it would have clipped the corners of the board.Alternatively, it fit perfectly along the side wall towards the back as shown in the attached pic. I used 4 5/8" torx screws installed with a small ratchet after plugging in all the wires. It was a little tight between the foam but I was able to make it work. After installing, I attached the wires to the binding posts on the back. Definitely test fit those first; it's a headache trying to install them by feel.

Thanks for the intel! Sanding sealers like shellac are usually pretty thin but help fill the surface imperfections. I think between that and forgoing the paint roller for the spray gun would have made quite the difference. I'll have to keep your workflow in mind when I have space to make some towers.

View Instructable »From cigars. :)But really, I just asked at a local cigar shop for some old cigar bands. They gave me a few but also sell them by the bag.You can also find them new and used on Ebay.

Thanks! If the taper is set correctly, the sticks should go from squares at the back to octagons at the front. So, when the sticks are set at 45 degrees, the plane should just touch at the back and cut the full depth at the front.

Nicely done! My grandparents were German immigrants and we had them all over for Christmas. Have you tried making them with ribbon? The patterns/shine look really sharp.

I don't see why not but I'm far from an expert in CNC operations. You could probably get most of the way there, except for the three crossovers. I'm not sure if you could flip it and run a second pattern on the back but that'd be the other stumbling block. You'll have to try it out and let me know how it goes. :)

We bought ours locally but there's a similar version on Amazon:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KW2VCBC/... a 'Dori Pouf'... there's my new term for the day. Let me know if you find instructions on making your own; I know they've been a popular subject.

Thanks for the vote/contest as well as the vote of confidence!I appreciate the feedback; I'll see about splitting up the step to make it a little more clear. I realized too late that it was getting rather long and couldn't decide how to fix it.The CM is a cool gadget but I don't think the quality is there. I originally wanted to make a setup to cut my own 7mm blanks but it quickly morphed into recreating the whole thing.

My thoughts exactly. I was initially worried about it but with the two commercial speakers showing the same response I figured it was the environment. I had piled a bunch of blankets and pillows all over them in a carpeted room but you're right; I'd like to take them to a chamber and see an accurate response.
