Anyone who can use the word acumen and fascinating in the same sentence can definitely do this! I am just an average guy and certainly not a craftsman! But you do need a bit of time...
Well, it's not as mellow as I would like and ideally I was hoping for a longer sustain; but I'm limited by choice of wood here in Kazakhstan and I don't think I've got my resonators perfectly set yet. I have not got time to rethink this and rushed the final stages. I plugged the resonators using discs cut from a plastic kitchen board but they don't sit perfectly or slide up and down as I originally intended them too. Also my beaters are a little hard in the clip I am attaching.. As a basic instrument for playing in a group it is great. Here is my first run through of a couple of my more familiar tunes using my newly wrapped beaters, although I confess I am no musician!
