Tell us about yourself!
No it will light on fire and destroy itself
UPDATE: I just found an old pnp germanium transistor and built a joule thief with it. (to use a pnp, just swap the polarity of the input and LED) With this setup I was able to light a white LED, albeit faintly, down to 0.23 volts
Since germanium transistors have a saturation voltage of around 0.2 volts, 1/2 a volt less than an average silicon transistor's saturation point, could I use a germanium transistor in this circuit, and possibly light an LED from 200 millivolts?
Could I use an FGH60N60SMD IGBT instead of the IRFP250N mosfet?
Yes. You may want to put several in parallel, since the bc547 can only handle 0.1 amps.
The video doesn't work.
Can I use this circuit to drive a small solid state tesla coil? Also, can I use an IGBT ( insulated gate bipolar transistor ) in place of the 2n3055?
Can this circuit be used to drive a small solid state tesla coil? Also, can I use an igbt ( insulated gate bipolar transistor in place of the npn?
yes, just dont input above 7 amps
Thanxs for this, i added the resonant capacitor and it added 1cm to my output.
Thanx for the great instructable. I made mine with a darlington pair in parallel with a 2n3055, it makes a 1.5 inch arch at 13 volts. Also drives a sgtc very nicely.
just use the solder wires to the circuit
sorry but you need the camera circuit
what size capacitor did you use to punch through a scissors blade. sounds fun
The capacitor can actually stop your heart
You could use potassium perchlorate, potassium chlorate, sodium, sodium chlorate, or ammonium perchlorate. All of the chlorates-perchlorates are more powerful than potassium nitrate, and consequently more dangerous. You would also have to calculate the fuel-oxidizer ratio yourself.
Excess oxidizer will not increase burn rate, it will just melt and decompose, wasting costly potassium nitrate-Kn03
I breathed some in a while ago and had no ill effects, so I suppose it will not harm you at all
kno3 is potassium nitrate
