Very nice design. Solder fumes contain lead and are a huge health hazard, lead poisioning is nothing to make fun of. So this project was not only a nice build and 3d printing exercise, it might even become a life saver. :) Just don't forget to add a freewheeling diode at the step up converter output.
Very nice design, I made one, but you forgot to add the protection diode on the step up converter. I knew it needed one and still managed to destroy my converter because I just wanted to give it (one!) try because I already soldered the Ventilator on its output. :)
I modded the device to 12V, but unfortunately the step up driver gets very hot when it is loaded with a 400mAh load. I added a heat sink so the circuit does not enter the overheat shut down protection but it still gets very hot. I added a thermal image after using it for 10 minutes. You see around the step up switcher ic, the temp is at 70 degree Celsius.
Very nice device, I built a 12V version to power my 10" raspberry display, the design is great,love all the added protection for the battery, the step up converter allows for easy output voltage setting changes, but I wish the charging ic would be a little more powerful.
