I wrapped a neodymium magnet (about 1/2" diameter) with green painters tape (the good stuff) and left a tab to hold it with. I go across the wall till I find a drywall screw (aka stud) and mark it. Quick and easy peasy.

How about a football seat? OMG my son would love that. He is a huge Patriots fan. I would love to build that for him. Have to figure out what to use for the arms and legs etc instead of baseball bats. Any suggestions?
This looks like a great system. Very nicely done. I usually book campsites with power but I may have to make this one for those times when power is not always available. I do have one question. Did you make those plastic end caps? How much to make me some. ;-)
Oh that is great. It is so hard to tell watching the rebuild as to how heavy it might be. I have a pop up camper that has a weight of 900 lbs dry and it is no where near your beautiful sturdy custom build. They built these very thinly way back when. I was curious to your build and weight as I have to replace a few things in the camper and want to make sure things are done properly. ie cabinets etc. So thank you for the great tutorial and info.
Beautiful Job! Is she going to be pulling this to campgrounds or is it going to be stationary. The reason why I am asking is that with all that wood it is going to be really heavy to pull I would think. But then again, I do love the beautiful and meticulous Construction you did on it. ;-)
This would be very kewl as a set of adult chairs/benches. However, I would think it would need a stronger top for an adult to sit on perhaps? I would personally build this by cutting a number of "U"'s and gluing them all together. This would make the chairs strong to sit for an adult. Love the build thanks for sharing.
If you Kreg Jig the whole thing with Pocket screws it would be even stronger. None the less it is a fabulous build. Thanks for sharing.
