    Duct Tape Dispenser

A direct quote from the cited Wikipedia article:According to etymologist Jan Freeman, the story that duct tape was originally called duck tape is "quack etymology" that has spread "due to the reach of the Internet and the appeal of a good story" but "remains a statement of faith, not fact." She notes that duct tape is not made from duck cloth and there is no known primary-source evidence that it was originally referred to as duck tape. Her research does not show any use of the phrase "duck tape" in World War II, and indicates that the earliest documented name for the adhesive product was "duct tape" in 1960. The Ultimate Lumber Storage Cart

Excellent practical and useful design. I figure that once I have made it, I will have used up all of my leftover lumber and will no longer need it.

Convert Old Cordless Tools to Lithium Power

Excellent detailed instructions. For those not ready to make the switch to Li, here's an alternative. I bought an 18v NiCad battery from Harbor Freight and robbed it of the batteries. I was able, with minor modifications, to replace the NiCads in my drill battery pack with these. They work as well as the ones that came with the drill. The best part - with their 20% off coupon I only have about $16 dollars invested in the battery!

  • Restoring and Assembling an Old Drill Press

I inherited an old General Machinery (I think) that looks almost identical to this one but it's certainly looks only. It's sold by Harbor Freight for under $100 new. Same green color, size and appearance.Great instructable and great job! I'm impressed! I just finished a complete tear down and restore of a 40+ year old Craftsman table saw. I believe that it is actually better than new as I replaced some parts with better made machined ones and added some adjustments.

    Fix a Hole in Drywall

i just patched a ceiling and wall from roof leak damage. I always seem to sand thru the drywall tape and end up with a fuzzy tape and more muddling to cover it. What's my problem? Am I putting too little mud on for the first coat?

Excellent idea and clear presentation. I would never have thought of using the paper on the patch instead of drywall tape. Could you could also remove a matching sized piece of paper from the drywall aroundd the hole and further minimize the muddling g and sanding.

Scan Photo With Your Mobile Phone

I frequently take photos with my camera of documents, receipts and other photos but it's often a challenge to get the lighting right without a shadow from my phone. This solves that problem and would be quick, inexpensive, portable and simple to make. It would make an excellent light box. I love it when someone scolds another for using their time productively on a fun project. It's highly unlikely that an average person could use every hour he has to earn income. I find it much more satisfying and rewarding to use my time making something useful. I save lots of $$$ each year making or repairing items instead of clogging the landfills by tossing out something that I can repair or repurpose.

  • LED Tape - Under Cabinet Lighting - No soldering!

I'm not an electrician. I easily added an outlet inside my closet that is fed directly from the closet light wall switch outside the closet. When I flip the switch, both the LEDs and the overhead closet light come on. I was able to mount the outlet directly below the switch so it was just a matter of cutting out for a single outlet box, running Romex to the switch and installing the box and duplex receptacle.I'm not advising you to do it yourself. As a disclaimer, always hire a qualified electrician for home wiring modifications.
