I am trying to make a device that can control IR devices using RF without disturbing anything in the IR Remote and the device which it controls.As there are 4 inputs via push buttons that can either go 0 or 1, that means there are 2^4 = 16 combinations possible.Yes, you can use any kind of device, but eventually you can only send 0 or 1 over the RF module I used, so it makes no sense to use rotary or touch screen or whatever.Moreover, this project is not for beginners. To understand this, you must have proper knowledge of digital electronics, theory and practical both.

As you cable TV Decoder is RF Controlled, that means it does not have any IR Receiver, it will not be easy. Although these Instructables can help a little:

Sure, you can use the widely used 433 MHz RF Wireless module or the NRF24L01. Can't say anything about Bluetooth though. Keep in mind you will need a microcontroller to get values from ultrasonic sensor and then transmit the data collected using the microcontroller and receive it and then display. If you want to use seven segment display, 433 MHz ones will be the best option.

Hi. I totally understand your question. I'll try to clear it using the following two points:1. Gate terminal capacitance: The output current of any microcontroller is usually very low (around 20mA), which is just perfect to drive loads with smaller capacitance in the range of picoFarads, but the gate terminal capacitance is higher than that. Although, I think, Arduino can handle it, but to ensure proper functioning, I have used it.2. Threshold Voltage: Although threshold voltage for a typical MOSFET is around 3-5 Volts, but to turn it on properly, 8-12 Volts is required. The Arduino will work just fine if we are just turning on or off at an interval of few seconds, but here, we are talking about turning it on and off 200 times a second (PWM frequency of Arduino is approx. 200 Hertz), th...

I have used this MOSFET without driver at the output of a 555 generating 3kHz PWM signal and that woks perfectly fine. But the 555 was working on 12 Volts.
