That is a very good idea having a box of "mistakes", I definitely got a few as well! :) As the great inventor Thomas Edison said, “I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.”. This is definitely the case when it comes to creating anything. Whenever your starting from scratch, without plans, you will make mistakes. But with the knowledge of how these mistakes where made, we can fix them and find better ways to build the next prototype! Thanks again!
Yup, we all make mistakes! Thank you as well, you definitely earned my vote! :)
Very cool! Thanks for posting this great made Instructable! As a steam train enthusiast, this is sweet! Now I wonder if you could put a whistle on your air powered train? Just another crazy idea! Thanks again!
Oops! Correction, great Instructable. I wonder where that "made" came from!
Great job! I have always enjoyed the sounds and looks of a single cylinder steam engine, so this is very cool! Thanks for posting, and I'd love to see your open chassis version!
It works! I cut a long, skinny strip off the foot of the sock. Then a made an oil lamp by cutting the bottom of a coke can off, then bending one end to a point. I filled it with a bit of canola oil, and I lit it!Thanks again for this great Instructable! Here's some pics! :)If you've ever seen an Ancient Greek oil lamp, this is kinda what it looked like, but they made it out of clay!
Thanks, I'll give it a try and I'll tell you if it works!
For a hunter you could cover the end of your rifle with a sock to prevent mud and other stuff from clogging you barrel! Great job!
You could use a 100% cotton sock as a emergency oil lamp wick or a fire starter! How about a homemade teabag by filling a sock with tea leaves. Mmmm! Foot flavour! -Great Instructable, Thanks.
