I really want to try this, but I live in Massachusetts and my simulated flights are splashing down in the Atlantic south of Nova Scotia.
Thank you for that. I just tried to run this with a Wemos D1 Pro and had the same issue until I tried your fix.
Short, simple, & just what I was looking for. My kid lost the remote to the dvd player in our van, the dealer wants over $200 for a new one. If I can find one to borrow, now I can map all the codes.
For those buying in the USA, I found a vendor on Amazon but they offer them in 3 different lengths, so be sure to pick the right size (22.5mm).I would second the suggestion though to come up with a 3d-printed switchplate design that incorporates the tubes, rather than sticking it on top.

It took me a bit to get all the right libraries, and I had to downgrade the JSON library as the changed StaticJsonBuffer to something else, but eventually got it to work. I also had to manually add my wifi info, it wouldn't go into AP mode to configure, it just kept connecting to something, I think the open XFinity network that's everywhere around here. I plan on messing around with some of the code variants, and one of the things I want to do is change the brightness based on the time, so it's dimmer at night.
My lathe has a 2HP motor, it won't have any trouble thickness sanding.
This is super helpful. My wife has a Necchi BU Mira and the case is in rough shape. The worst part being where the hinges attach is totally busted. I've been considering making a new one, but I hadn't peeled the paper off the old one and had no idea it was two separate pieces. I've been pouring over your pictures trying to glean all the construction details, but I think the time has come to dig a little deeper into the one I have.
Don't feel bad, I thought the same thing until I watched an unboxing video and the guy commented on the piezo in the bag with the headers & jumpers.
