  • Orrery- a Mechanical Solar System Model From Plywood

Isn't the correct ecliptic to moon drive ratio 365.25 / 29.54 = 12.36, which would mean a 136-tooth rack instead of 146 with an 11-tooth moon gear?

As far as I know, successive standard tubing sizes are designed to telescope together. For example, metric 3,4,5,6mm etc, 1/32, 1/16. 3/32in etc. Correct me if I'm wrong though, it has been a while since I worked with the materials.
