Tell us about yourself!
Absolutely! The reason I used the MEGA was because I was using 6 sensors. So, I needed a lot more ports. You can use a digital IO extender IC and use an UNO if you want. Your wish!
First, thank you! Second, I personally did not follow a circuit diagram. I looked online for how to wire an ultrasonic sensor and repeated that for six different sensors to different ports. Then, use those ports in your program! For example, you could follow this: https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwjP65n-8-LdAhWF7lMKHUf5CHEQjRx6BAgBEAU&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.maxphi.com%2Fultrasonic-sensor-interfacing-arduino-tutorial&psig=AOvVaw2BgYMGvhzbYuo8tgDq9ubL&ust=1538402996041118

Did I mention IR somewhere? Sorry then. I was meaning to say laser sensors with IR. If the laser is fired directly at the IR sensor, then the IR will have an extremely high reading, nearly 1. That would be most efficient for dark situations. But ultrasonic works universally.
Repeat the same thing again. Hook up an ultrasonic sensor and repeat it.
Sure! It would be more accurate, but it would require more effort.
I pretty much used this code and everything was fine. Did you copy paste it?
