When I saw this I had to make one! The trouble is, my creative eye for art is pathetic. So I pretty much used the project pics to make mine look the same. Never dry-brushed before but it came out okay. One difference, rather than cutting the quarter-inch metal rod into segments, I ran it through all the blocks. Before cutting the back board, I set them all in position, face down, and marked where the rod would go.I made a jig to make sure the hole was drilled the exact distance from the back of each block (only half-drilled into the two end blocks.) Then, rod in place, I placed the whole thing on the backboard and traced around it for an exact fit.My daughter loved it for her entry hallway! Thanks for a great Instructable!
LOL! Well, I figured facing the camera lens out would go without saying. But, you're right. A good Instructable shouldn't assume anything. :-)

This is a great way to hold your phone (in the proper orientation) while recording video for a family party or the like. Set it up, get it started, place it on a table, mantle, etc.,then let it run.
