Nice project. I have often thought of making something like this, but have always wondered if all that surface area will be a headache in stronger crosswinds. Also - thank you for including your fabric source. I'm always trying to accumulate new sources for utility fabrics for bags, packs, tool rolls, etc.

Slide Rule for the Modern Day
This is great. Were my dad still alive, I would strongly consider making this for him for Christmas. I remember when my dad first taught me how slide rules work and I found it very close to magic until I was older and better appreciated the "why" part.
End Grain Plywood End Table With Laminated Legs
I'm not saying it can't be used without injury, and the more I thought about it, I think your device would be particularly handy for campers who would value its small size & portability. I'm only saying that mandolines are already one of the most injury prone devices in a kitchen (but which I nonetheless use regularly) and the fully exposed blade on this just dials up the risk factor. Seriously, use bing or google for "most dangerous kitchen tool."Like I said though, this was a very well done Instructable in any case.
Siri, make me a mandoline, but make it as unsafe as possible. In all seriousness, this is a well-done Instructable for a project best designed to remove fingertips as well as slicing potatoes. At a minimum, I would include a model for a 3d printed pusher so one's fingers are not at risk of coming in contact with the blade. Or provide a link to cut proof kitchen gloves (which I use with my mandolines rather than the plastic pushers.
