Deteriorates is relative. I use white PVC 1/2 inch pipes for hoop houses. Leave them on the ground 365 day a year, only remove the fabric once cold weather warms up (5 month a year in this part of Minnesota) and I've been using the same ones for the last 13 years. They are all fine. Never have painted them.

Sure, I'm 5 feel tall and 72 and the snow is right now about 4 feet, if I trip, they will find me in April. lol
I live the middle of town and I have a total of two.
Not just in Quebec, but also other areas where sugar maples (preferably) grow and temperatures dip below freezing. I live in Minnesota and gather the liquid and make my own syrup.
Great design and finished product. I can see why it took so long. Lucky one of my maple trees is 50 feet and the other 55 feet in a different direction from my walkout basement, so I can just walk there every day. If I knew what to do with all the snow in the way, I would be happy.

I could be adapted to much larger projects using large appliances boxes with the clear window in the side. Also for spray painting without the filter. Congratulations.
Brilliant idea. Where I live, it tends to be windy year long, to the point of straight winds being common (can be 100 miles an hour). Outside sanding is no practical and being that it's also very cold 7 months a year, the only option is inside. In other words, sanding projects are not all that viable. This is a very affordable solution. Thumbs way up.
