SpammaS, while it would make sense that Logic sends a MIDI_NOTE_OFF, the sketch seems to work by looking for MIDI_NOTE_ON (value 144) with Velocity of 127 to turn the light on and MIDI_NOTE_ON (still a value of 144) with Velocity of 0 to turn it off. Take a look at the switch statement " case: STATE_NOTE" and at the second if statement - if (midiCommand == MIDI_NOTE_ON && midiVelocity == 0) //Recording stopped. Have you experimented using MIDI_NOTE_OFF (Value 127) and gotten some different results? Thanks for checking my instructable out!
Thomas, great idea - thanks! Unlike the mechanical relay, some type of solid state relay would operate silently, which would work much better in a recording environment.
