If you are having problems with the optical flame sensor reliably sensing a flame. I'm switching to using Flame Rectification to test for a flame. I have an MXA042 kit on order. It runs from 12v and provides NO/NC output via a relay. If you have concerns about using a random solenoid valve from the internet and it being suitable for use with Propane, I used a solenoid shutoff valve designed to be used as the shutoff for LPG converted vehicles.

I'm using the BrewPi Spark V3 with the Brewblox software update. Running my fermenter for now. But I'm going to use it for an automated full grain setup on gas eventually. Also attached is a shot of the power distribution and switching panel that drives the fermenter.

Thanks for this, I had this up and running in minutes. no changes to the code required. Downloaded, opened with Arduino 1.6.5 uploaded it to Arduino UNO and run.

Hi All,For the FSM I used v2I was able to get it to compile using IDE versions:IDE 1.05 R2IDE 1.6.5 R52.0 2013-02-08: LINK: Versions fixed for Arduino 1.0x Terry KingNOTE 1 The download link provided for the FSM defaults to v1.7 (See history for v2 link) I could not get this compile with any IDE version.NOTE 2 The hosting for FSM v2 is closing September 30th, 2018 at 23.59 GMT.v2 Download Link (while it still works): http://arduino-info.wikispaces.com/HAL-LibrariesUpdatesI fear the last of my parts will not arrive in time for me to complete the build prior to the Sept 30th deadline for FSM v2 hosting

I like to see the working of my projects so I used a transparent box to house it all. I made a few changes.1) Used a 4pin GX16 aviation connector to provide 5v/12v power2) Used a 7pin GX16 connector to attach the external flame sensor, solenoid valve and ignitor power3) Added an DS2413 I2C interface via RJ12 connectors to allow computer control.4) Added manual switches to enable/disable external computer control or have manual override.5) Used a battery powered BBQ ignitor, not impressed with the spark from a single battery so I connected it to 5v puts out a healthy 15KV now6) Optical flame sensor change to flame rectifier parts in post.7) Added a flyback diode to the solenoid valve to remove power spikes when it closes.
