  • Desktop-Sized Infinity Dodecahedron

Kudos to the author here, no doubt! But I want to be clear I am not him...I'm considering various somethings' right along these lines for short run productions (like 100 - 1000 piece runs) ... and always entertaining commission requests. I've got three questions for R&D purposes if your willing share your opinions: I'm interested to know what your desired price point would be on a piece like this: ♡What would you expect it to cost on the shelf?♤What would be your breaking point on the high end of "HellNo I ain't paying that much!"♧What would be your breaking point on the low end of "Well it must be a P.O.S. for that cheap!"◇Knowledge is priceless, I'd gladly thank you and/or anybody for weighing in here on this. ...;)>~

  • Deep Hole in a Small Box, a Different Take on the Infinity Mirror.

Very cool. I have a failed/shelved project from ~13yrs ago which your posting has breathed new life into... I was trying to make a supersized infinity mirror, even though I'd never seen one larger than ~6". I contacted a major glass supplier (who happened to be headquartered in my hometown) to inquire about material recommendations. Now I'm an intelligent person well versed in the trades, but this guy was rattling off specs, prices, sku's, and unfamiliar terms faster than anyone could possibly keep up with or understand. I ended up special ordering the 2 pieces of mirrors for $42; when I arrived for pickup, the price was $168! Turned out the premium mirror was $42/ft2 and the premium 2-way mirror was even more! Oops! I bought them anyway since it was special ordered. I whipp…

I bought them anyway since it was special ordered. I whipped up the box frame shown in pics just as an experiment to get the mirror spacing right. I tried many distances and multiple different lighting options but could never get the "tunnel" to vortex into infinity, never more than a couple inches from the exterior. It is not worth it to cut these high dollar pieces up into little infinity mirrors! So... I will be trying it with your design now, I don't think I ever tried it with mirrors that far apart. Thanks for the spark!
