Siemens has a device that does photometric 3-D scans which uses a turntable to take a series of photos of ear impressions. It has a movable turntable which allows a series of small objects from two angles. The device is called "iScan" and it's used in conjunction with 3-D printing to make custom hearing aids. It never occurred to me that one could do this with a handheld camera but I suppose with the right software and a powerful camera, anything is possible. It's a giant step in 3-D photography and my guess is this will be nothing less than a new era in photography. Thanks!
