This is a very nice design, very clean and appealing. But since you didn't get the gears to align and "didn't mount all of the parts into the back of the clock" I assume you never got it fully working, and the device on the wall is not a functioning clock. This is really more a concept piece than an instructable, and that should be made clear to anyone who attempts to duplicate your work by downloading gear files that won't work, and unproven code.
This is a beautiful creation, and a detailed, well-presented instructable. You might want to edit "kinda", "wanna" and "gonna" in the text, which detracts from an otherwise professional presentation.

Very nice, especially like the base.Makers would be advised to use a 500 ohm resistor on the data line and a 1000uF capacitor across the power. See https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-neopixel-uberg...I made something similar a few years ago. For a simple enclosure, consider a 12x12" shadow box picture frame. http://chronology.weebly.com/neopixel-ring-clock.html

Great design! You might find that acrylic solvent like Weld On, is much easier for gluing acrylic pieces together. A very small amount is drawn into the gap by capillary action and makes a great bond that can set very quickly. My Illustrator app says the .dwg files are corrupt. They may not be, but do you have the files to share in any other format?
Nice work. You can run the Neopixels off 3.3v, only slightly dimmer. Then can do without the level conversion. Use a 3.3v supply, 2-3A.
