Tell us about yourself!
These are so good! The construction is simple enough to be within everyone's reach, but you really captured their personalities!
Ouch! Please don't force us to either wallow in our own ignorance or go over to 'the Man' - no WAY am I getting in bed with reddit or facebook!!!! The only reason I don't come here more is I couldn't get it to do what I wanted. I was hoping that now I could, and instead I see it is going to be put down. Now how will I ever get help making my upright piano hide-a-bed! :_(
Ha! And here it was keeping me up nights wondering how you got it so perfect! Nice effect!

Please, please, PLEASE! Don't ever take it out of your guest bathroom. It's not just enough that it exists. It must remain on active duty! "A thing of beauty is a joy forever: Its loveliness increases..."
LED Space Helmet - 2019 Update
That is soooo amazing. I am so glad it exists! The detail and practicality/usability (in context) is fantastic. Thank you for making it. It needed to be done and you did it remarkably well!
What did you use for the 'glass' on the helmet? It looks curved and seamless on the little pictures on a phone.
Hahaha! Goats and donkeys are such good helpers! I'll be they had a good time 'helping' by smelling everything thoroughly, sticking their heads between you and what you were doing, rooting through your toolbox, standing on stuff you are trying to place,....It looks wonderfully fun and nice and sturdy.

What a great idea! I am going to make my composter that way to a) use up a ton of scrub and b)provide really good aeration and drainage. Plus, it looks sharp!
I have never heard 'Hell strip' before. It sounds kind of exciting and wicked! I only know it as a boulevard, and I also think in most of Canada you are only supposed to mow it. Some people pop flowers around the tree, if there is one, and some folks put little borders in, but, sadly, a glamorous project like that would get you in trouble, rather than be gratefully appreciated, like it ought to be.
Wow! That is amazing. It looks so great when your step back. Fantastic use of scraps (plus, you are a model of patience!)

Hi, I know this is a little late, but...You CAN NOT legally deface Canadian coins. You can certainly deface an American one, if you want (that is why, in those souvenir penny-squisher machines, it says to use an American penny; it's not because a Canadian one won't work, it's because it is illegal.)The Currency Act states that "no person shall melt down, break up or use otherwise than as currency any coin that is legal tender in Canada." Similarly, Section 456 of The Criminal Code of Canada says: "Every one who (a) defaces a current coin, or (b) utters a current coin that has been defaced, is guilty of an offence punishable on summary conviction."Hope this helps. Just in case you wear your ring to the police station one day. :-)
I think in sweet things it is more the sugar that is the preservative, but I'm not an expert. Any home economists/chemists want to chime in?
Ooooo! I love your edges so much I am going to rip off my sides to do them that way! They make it look so finished and classy.
I didn't do it myself, but the person from whom we bought our house had. The biggest problems I have found, after living with it for 5 years are: 1) the vertical surfaces - the back splash and the front lip - are still really rough, and can collect guck and catch on your washcloths, etc, literally tearing them to shreds. It is also abrasive enough to scrape the skin off you knuckles or catch threads on a fine nylon top if you rub against it while you are washing dishes. 2) the epoxy has a fairly soft surface, so a well-meaning helper with an SOS (steel wool) pad can play merry heck with it in seconds. I am also wondering if the unusualness of it will scare people when we try to sell. I wouldn't have thought of this, but when we were buying, it seemed to be one of the biggest 'flaws'…

I am also wondering if the unusualness of it will scare people when we try to sell. I wouldn't have thought of this, but when we were buying, it seemed to be one of the biggest 'flaws' our realtor noticed and kept commenting on. On the plus side, it hasn't chipped, cracked, dented, stained, or gotten watermarked or anything, and it has been subjected to pretty heavy abuse and neglect by my family (and we are WAY more heavy-handed and careless than average.) I am hoping a thin topcoat of resin will fill in the scratches and make them disappear. Just giving you the voice of experience. ☺
