Thanks, i will experiement and i will post the results.
I am planing to charge the coil incrimentaly and take measurement of the discharge voltage. Lets say that the Imax of the coil is 20A and the time it takes for the current to go at 20A is 1 second. I will charge the coil at first for 0.1 sec and then take a measurement, then i will charge the coil for 0.2 sec and take a mesurment, etc. By doing that i think that i can determin the depth of the object and also i would be able the find small and big items. Right ? The other thing a can't understand is why we need a big coil to go deeper? You can make a coil with low resistans that can produs the same intensity of magnetic fields as a large coil. Why they all corelet the diameter of the coil the search depth, the only thing that determis the depth is the magnetic field.
how is the diameter of the coil corelets to the search depth. All over google they sey that with some diameter you have beter detetion of small items and with large diameter you can go deeper. The thing is that they don't say why. Why do you want coils that store lower energis for example.???
