don't try to burn too much at once. but if all you have have is the little bit of swarf from these little projects at a time, no worries. but if you have something like a coffee can or even a full soup can full of swarf, be very careful. flames will get high and very, very hot.

its easy to anodize. surface should be clean and free of oxides for best result. easiest way to polish (pickling requires HF acid which is pretty dangerous stuff and not easy to obtain). The really nice iridescent colors like the greens, pinks, and purples need higher voltages. for the electrolyte nothing special is needed. I've been told pepsi works fine.
coolant isn't absolutely required for machining, chips won't burn that easily. but it is needed if you don't have a bottomless supply of cutting tools or inserts. it will get hot enough at the cut it will melt the binder in carbide inserts and lose temper on HSS, quickly, and then you've got a nasty rough finish too. Now the grinding swarf you do need to be careful with. best to grind wet, and clean up all the swarf/dust and either put it in a closed container or spread it outside - not going to hurt anything. (or burn it in your burn pit if you only have a little). Ti swarf burns very hot and fast, and water will not extinguish it.
lots on ebay too and no minimums. but then you need to make sure you are buying from a reputable seller. and better if the piece has line markings on it from the manufacturer.

that's what scorps are for. unless the blade can be made to have a permanent set or bend to it, I think this would end up being more dangerous than useful with respect to making bowls and such.and for general flat work, too much flex to work as effectively as a drawknife, so it won't be able to take off a lot of wood at once if you need to , while still being able to take light cuts.Just make scrapers out of old worn out saws.
and that really wide surface is not conducive to working on the radius inside a bowl
