You have a point however I see the occupants using the perch all the time on my bird houses - wrens and tree swallows mostly. Sitting with an insect in beak and just reaching in the hole to feed the hungry mob while staying on the perch. As the brood grows there is less space for the parents making the perch an important accessory. Perhaps careful placement of the perch is more helpful than total removal
They are called Nylon Finishing Washers I found them on Amazon in various sizes
A quick sanding with 0000 steel wool and then spray paint should last a long time
What is the reason for a ring and disk at the front opening? Wouldn't just the round disk with hole in it suffice?
I would go mad if it had a hood too!
thank you! The pdf download doesn't appear to work... I need to print this one for sure!
Here is a good explanation of the differences between sponge and pound cake and how the two are confused http://www.stabroeknews.com/2010/the-scene/04/17/it’s-a-sponge-cake-no-it’s-a-pound-cake-so-what’s-a-sponge-cake/
Mine is plated; definitely pound cake - definitely delicious! I believe sponge cake originated in the UK - it was Queen Victoria's special cake for tea time. Sometimes its called Imperial Sponge, at least that was what my mother called it. She always made them for birthday cakes!
Sponge cake does use egg yolk. Angel cake which is similar does not use egg yolk and is very light and fluffy
Ohhh look at those yolks! Happy Chickens!
Not all laser toners work - I use this method to transfer images to metal and the Brother Laser copiers don't work while HP and Samsung do - it has to do with polymers [plastics] in the toner itself. Temperature used has to be enough to soften and transfer the toner without over heating the polymers so it runs which is a big problem on metal, and perhaps of little consequence on wood.
The colour could be different content from the mono - I use mono for etching and Brother doesn't work for that.
I print my pattern on paper and stick it to metal with a non-toxic glue stick. Pretty sure it would work as well on wood. The pattern pulls or rinses right off easily at clean up.
