in my experience, it is quite difficult to tune the cutting process, even with the same material. My laser is a 3.5W (this is a cheap chinese one, and I suspect it to be only 2W actually) and is not capable to cut in one pass. I got success in cutting a 2.5mm hardboard sheet in 4 passes and a speed of 150mm/s, but my problem is the reproducibility. Sometimes same parameters does not produce same results.

I am also in the same process. My printer is a self-made Prusa mk2 clone, based on a Ramps1.4 board and parts from Aliexpress. The trick to hook the TTL input of the laser to the power of the part fan was not working in my special case, because of the way the mosfet on the Ramps1.4 is designed. So, I have been obliged to solder a wire directly to the gate of the mosfet, in order to have access to the real TTL signal from the Arduino Mega. Then, not so straightforward as with the genuine MK3.BTW, how many perceptual different gray shades are you able to produce with your setup? And how do you calibrate the gray shades levels per material?

hello, thank you for your project, this is inspiring. Why do you use the combination brushless motor/ESC ? Could I replace it by a DC brushed motor?

View Instructable »Nice project.Good idea this electromagnet. This is more presentable than a coil.I also got problem for winding my own coil, so I bought an electrical door bell, and used the coil from it.I made the frame myself, I prefer the aspect than IKEA framehttps://goo.gl/photos/VDzH1hvUAfVbtgv38

could you give advice on the video shooting ? How did you avoid flickering on your video ?

for my own electromagnet i used the one from a door ring bell. You could buy one for some bucks at your nearest hardware store

The difficulty we faced was that the Multitech LoRa gateway is not designed off-the-shelf to be put outdoor. We bought a SMA cable extension to be able to put the antenna away from the gateway case. At that moment we were able to put the box inside a waterproof case (in fact an outdoor electrical box) that we found at a very affordable price. Real on-purpose IP65 enclosures were very out of budget for our little project.Waterproofing is difficult task, and there is no place for errors. Electronic does not like water, or condensation. We will wait and see if our work has been well done. It should be fast, because weather is bad hier for the moment in Belgium.

View Instructable »Hi, nice work!We have done something similar, based on a Multitech Conduit, and a client tool designed around the Multitech MDOT chip. Here is a little presentation video: And here is the resulting map, not already fully populated, but work in progress:
wow, this screwdriver is definitely a must have
