But... what for? In the time I put the LED with both feet (that are not the same length) in the female headers I could just hold it to the battery...?

Improvement: Load the caps with the 12 Volt battery and use the flash rail connectors of the camera to light up the LEDs.so you could build a flash out of multiple LEDs that light up when you are actually shooting a picture.:
