    DIY Cat Tree House

Hi Linda, now that it's been 3 years, how has it held up? My concern is the upright posts and how you have them with the styrofoam inserts. I have 3 cats that love to chase each other around the house and the top of the cat tree must be safe base or something, because they hit that tree at a dead run and fly up the side till they reach the top. They stop for a minute, take a breather, then take off again, always returning racing back up to the top of the cat tree to see who gets there first. It's a riot to watch! So it's worth it that they've succeeded in pulling one of the uprights down from the store bought tree and a couple of others are starting to wobble, just from running up the sides instead of going up the front. The tree is only 2 years and 1 month old but looks about 5 o...

The tree is only 2 years and 1 month old but looks about 5 or more! haha Rather than buy a new one, I thought about building one or fixing this one. I thought about turning a 4x4 post on the lathe and just making a solid wood round post, but then worried about them slamming into it at full speed. Then I saw your DIY project and wondered about the inserts and if they would hold up or if I should turn some wood inserts. Your idea would be a lot easier and faster, if it's holding up. So how is it doing?Michael

    $2 Bill Pad

This is a common misconception, but in reality it isn't defacing money. I've received several of these in circulation. They are not pulled and destroyed. It's only illegal if you do so to the point where the bill is no longer recognizable. Someone else mentioned this is why Where's George doesn't work. That isn't correct either. Where's George didn't work simply because people didn't participate.Defacement of U.S. currency is regulated by 18 USC 333, which states:[w]hoever mutilates, cuts, defaces, disfigures, or perforates, or unites or cements together, or does any other thing to any bank bill, draft, note, or other evidence of debt issued by any national banking association, or Federal Reserve bank, or the Federal Reserve System, with intent to render such bank bill, draft, not...
