Thank you so much for posting this instructable! I nanbed the snowblower that my neighbor was discarding the other day. Purchasing a new chute for $70 was a little painful, but it's cheaper than a new snowblower.

How long is the fur? Do you want it spun as pure fur or a blend with wool? Do you know what type of yarn from it is envisaged, or is it more a case of being spun for what it is/as it comes and deciding what best to do with it after?

Hi! Thanks for asking. I have since sold the carder and upgraded to a "real" carder. I do quite a bit of pet fur spinning, and although the DIY carder worked pretty well, I need something more professional for the volume that I tackle. I would still recommend the project for folks who occasionally card fiber, but if you have any volume of carding to be done, it's best to purchase a more professional carding machine instead.
Thanks for your comment. At the time, wood wasn't crazy expensive, and the depth of the wood held the water longer until they filled the buckets.
That's fantastic! I'm glad you found my instructable useful! It's been a terrible, droughty year for much of the country. Thanks for your comment! Cheers.
